HM Queen Rania owes her status as one of the most stylish royals to her impeccable taste in pantsuits and contemporary looks as well as her collection of traditional kaftans and thobes. Among the latter are a few absolute gems that have made the list of the queen’s best outfits, and have even been taken out for a spin for a second time by the royal herself. As an unapologetic member of Team Outfit Repeats and champion of homegrown brands, Queen Rania recently re-wore a thobe she first sported in 2015.

The mother-of-three accompanied HM King Abdullah II on an official visit to the Central Badia region on Wednesday, when she opted for a traditional black thobe with embroidery. The minimalistic number featured cream-colored panels with red and green floral details at the bodice and as pleats. Queen Rania’s outing this week involved meeting with a group of women from the Bani Sakher tribe for iftar, which is noteworthy as the last time the royal wore the thobe was for an equally important visit. In 2015, the look was chosen by Queen Rania for her meeting with the beneficiaries of the Al Badia Society for Women Development in Khashafiet Al Shawabkeh. Unlike nine years ago, the 53-year-old elevated the thobe with a few accessories, which notably have also been worn by the royal on previous occasions. These included her favorite olive green suede pumps by Lebanese shoe designer Jennifer Chamandi, a Chloe saddle bag in a matching hue, and gold earrings with pearls and diamonds by Wempe.

Those who keep up with Queen Rania’s public wardrobe would know that this is one of the many occasions where she has shown love to a look more than once. However, it is safe to say that none of her outfit repeats have ever been the same, given that the royal always puts a spin on it via different accessories and pairings.
