The world will turn its attention to Windsor Castle on May 19 for the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Naturally, the current conversation is dancing around various designer names and speculating which maison is working on the commission of the dress. After all, one tends not to debate which florist will be snipping the stems that line the aisle. In the fashion world, pros have added Stewart Parvin, Victoria Beckham (who has allegedly shared that she wants to design the gown), Alexander McQueen, and Erdem to the list of talent that could be lined up for, arguably, the biggest wedding commission of the year.

The engagement portraits featured the 36-year-old Suits star in a creation by Michael Russo and Tamara Ralph, the Australian couple behind Ralph & Russo. In March 2016, Markle shared that she is into “whimsical or subtly romantic” wedding dresses. And yet, this doesn’t narrow down the options amid the British royal bridal dress debate. Remember, we had this very heated guessing game in the build up to the marriage of Kate Middleton and Prince William. And the responsibility fell to Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. She didn’t disappoint.

Team Vogue Arabia weighs in on the sartorial hot topic and look to Middle Eastern design talent that could capture the gravity of the occasion in haute couture. Scroll down to see the bridal gown suggestions fresh from the editor-in-chief, Manuel Arnaut, and the fashion desk for bride-to-be Meghan Markle.
