Reed Krakoff has been appointed as Chief Artistic Officer of Tiffany & Co. In the newly-created role at the renowned jewelry house, Krakoff’s position will take effect as of February 1st. The designer will be in charge of the brand’s jewelry lines, luxury accessories, leather goods as well as overseeing the label’s vision. “I’m honored to join Tiffany as Chief Artistic Officer and fully dedicate my creative focus to this storied American luxury brand,” said Krakoff to US Vogue. “The exceptional opportunity to further Tiffany’s rich creative legacy of design and craftsmanship, and join the incredible talent within Tiffany, is truly inspiring.”

Prior to the appointment, Krakoff held the reigns at Coach as executive Creative Director before launching his own brand of ready-to-wear designs and accessories in 2009 under the support of the New York-based leather handbag brand. In March 2015, the three-time winning CFDA Award winner shuttered his eponymous label and ceased operations on production.

The news also sees the departure of Francesca Amfitheatrof from her role as design director at Tiffany & Co. who has been with the brand since 2013. Amfitheatrof’s plans for the future are undisclosed.
