We’re Crushing on Chanel’s New Jewelry Collection

“My reason for choosing diamonds is that, dense as they are, they represent the greatest worth in the smallest volume.” Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel

After revisiting its quilted heritage with the Coco Crush fine jewelry line, Chanel welcomes new pieces to its range of chunky cuffs and gold bands in the brand’s signature motif. Dubbed Coco Crush Diamonds, the expanded collection features two quilted bracelets and four gold rings (in 18K white or yellow gold) in small and medium sizes encrusted with the legendary couturier’s favorite gemstone: diamonds.

In 1932 Coco Chanel showcased her only fine jewelry collection — diamonds set against platinum — at her Bijoux de Diamants exhibition in Paris, 12 years after the brand’s quilted pattern premiered in its 1920 couture collection. The new pieces feature the lion, another symbol dear to Coco Chanel (she was a Leo, after all) which is engraved on the yellow and white gold cuffs. The collection is primed for Chanel jewelry aficionados, collectors, and regulars on the fashion house’s front row.
