A wedding dress is often regarded as the single most important dress choice a woman who wants to wed will make. So when the style stakes are high, there are a number of go-to designers trusted to strike the perfect balance between timelessly elegant design and futureproof style twists. Elie Saab’s Bridal Spring 2018 offering, entitled In Bloom, has 13 looks ranging from floor-sweeping gowns to a wide-legged jumpsuit primed for the modern bride.

Other unexpected additions to the collection include a hooded cape and 3D floral appliqué detailing splashed across pearl-encrusted pieces. Noted as a cool style twist, Saab’s reflective sunglasses are remixed into the lookbook giving the thumbs-up to summer brides incorporating luxe eyewear into their big-day outfit.

The garden-inspired theme is ever-present throughout the collection. While the ‘In Bloom’ look is quintessentially feminine and so Saab – cue sweetheart necklines and deftly placed transparent panels – there’s an edge to the designer’s Spring 2018 approach. Perhaps it’s the long-line silhouettes or the confident attention to detailing that only an up-close encounter could truly appreciate. This line-up of bridal looks is a cool fusion of tradition and forward-thinking high fashion.
