The Fuss-Free Guide to Fall Bridal Trends

Rewind back to Bridal Fashion Week Fall 2017. The trend barometer concluded that contemporary silhouettes, clouds of tulle, and feminine lace is in for this winter’s bride. Designers shifted their focus from the obvious trends such as plunging necklines, dramatic trains, and sheer layers, and instead played with a profusion of fresh alternatives to the classic wedding gown.

At Naeem Khan we saw voluminous shoulders reminiscent of a tailored shirt, Vera Wang revealed off-the-shoulder gowns coupled with ultra long sleeves, and Inbal Dror showcased sheer designs with feather detailed cuffs. Emphasis on the backs of dresses was popular, as displayed in the form of a large folded sheaf on an Oscar de la Renta column silhouette. Meanwhile, Zuhair Murad offered an asymmetrical design that overlaid a lace skirt on a gown that featured a sheer, embellished bodice. Eclectic offerings also grabbed our attention. Viktor & Rolf’s first bridal collection featured a polo shirt-inspired bodice complete with a tulle skirt accented by 3D-floral embellishments; while Gabriela Hearst offered a two-piece option in her Spring 2017 ready-to-wear collection that consisted of cropped cigarette pants and a button-down top.

In the gallery, Vogue Arabia highlights the best wedding dresses from Bridal Fashion Week 2017 that will set the tone for next year’s trends.
