Your Secret-Weapon Accessory is in Chopard’s New Collection

Every woman needs a scene-stealing set of high jewelry to take a dress to the next level – and Geneva-based Chopard has amply provided such key pieces season after season. Hence why heroines of the silver screen chose the maison’s rocks to top off a red carpet gown and millennial starlets still follow suit. It’s been a busy 2017 for Chopard, with its collaboration with Rihanna announced this spring, hot on the heels of The Queen of Kalahari launch at Fall 2017 fashion week in Paris.

Chopard launched its Red Carpet collection, designed by creative director Caroline Scheufele, in 2007, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Cannes film festival. Now the festival is in its 70th year, and the jewelry house has crafted 70 special pieces that will be unveiled at the event, which runs May 17-28. The 2017 high jewelry offering does not opt for safe, classic diamonds – rather, the collection is a vibrant kaleidoscope of colors in fine gemstones that will unapologetically set premium accessory magpies alight. The settings are still classical so understated types can tap into the confident spectrum of brights too. Vogue Arabia explores the Red Carpet collection ahead of the Cannes Film Festival – which Chopard has partnered with since 1998 – to predict which pieces will be worn on the décolletages of Hollywood, Bollywood, and Arab film stars.
