Dubai-based designer Doaa Alghouti launched her online luxury brand Anatomi in 2015 with the vision of creating modest wear with a modern twist. Anatomi is now fast emerging as a highly-reputable brand in both the local and international markets for its versatile fashion. “I’m always aiming to reinvent the classic abaya and design pieces that will be worn by sophisticated women,” says the designer. Anatomi previews its Spring 2017 collection, titled ‘The Secret Garden”, to Vogue Arabia and reveals the inspiration behind its burgeoning sophisticated aesthetic.
While studying the structures and shapes of flowers and leaves, Alghouti interpreted elements of nature into her works, focusing on high-waist designs and loose silhouettes. Fashion has long cited nature as a key source of inspiration, with collections by designers such as Elie Saab and Alexander McQueen springing to mind. “The print that I have created for this collection is inspired by overlapped leaves, flower petals, and other elements of a spring garden,” says Alghouti. “I was precisely aiming to create harmony between the pieces and nature,” she adds. Expect “The Secret Garden” to embody romantic and rustic elements, with a delicate color palette, lashings of french lace, floral jacquards, and hand-drawn printed crepe. She revealed to Vogue Arabia, “Anatomi will introduce for the first time designer accessories such as straps, belts, and other embellished pieces that can be styled in a variety of ways.” Watch this space.
Anatomi is stocked at Maison Bom Riyadh, and House of Fraser, Abu Dhabi. Its e-commerce website launches in May 2017.
