Those on the hunt for a standout bag to add to their collection, can look to Marzook’s new Mochila backpack. Part of the Kuwait-based accessories brand’s Spring 2017 collection, the new silhouette features a transparent semi-ball that’s harnessed by crisscrossed Nappa leather belts. Speaking to Vogue Arabia about how the contemporary design was conceived, Marzook creative director Fahad Al Marzook shared, “The fast paced jet setter’s lifestyle was the starting point, which led to drawing inspiration from airplane seatbelts. The backpack has a unique design, but still keeps to Marzook’s circular code.”

Indeed, the orb is central to Marzook’s aesthetic, and can be found in the form of a graphic harlequin print clutch, suspended in a Lucite box-shaped bag; or, surrounded by a cage-framed minaudière. Now, as the brand marks its third season, Fahad Al Marzook discusses the introduction of the new design to the line, “We felt we needed to introduce a bag that would capture a different and wider audience by focusing on a softer, more relatable design such as a backpack.” In other words, the special piece can be worn on repeat.
