Karl Lagerfeld’s Former Monaco Home to Host a Design Fair

Two leading voices in the design and luxury sectors, Giorgio Pace and Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte, have put their reputations on the line with a sumptuous new approach to collectible design fairs. Their latest venture, a traveling showcase of investment-worthy design called Nomad, welcomes an exclusive set of design lovers and investors – on a strict invite-only premise – to La Vigie, one of the most prestigious private villas on the French Riviera.

Built in 1902 and perched high on a cliff top above Monte Carlo Beach Club and with stunning views of the sea, La Vigie is the backdrop for a handpicked edit of 15 of the most revered design galleries from across the globe. “With our combined experience in curating art and design projects, Nicolas and I agreed it was time to introduce an event that revisits the classic format of traditional fairs,” says Pace. “Nomad Monaco coincides with Art Monte Carlo and promises an intimate, engaging environment that collectors will enjoy and look forward to each year.”

Kicking off in style in Monaco, a destination synonymous with the pursuits of high society, Nomad connects the dots of high living. Luxury, travel, design, art, architecture, and exclusivity, will be the hallmark of the show as it travels to architectural locations around the world, exploring new dialogues between design and context. “Our intent is to offer an opportunity to discover global contemporary design and architecture, while creating a community of like-minded individuals from different countries, who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to meet or cross paths,” says Bellavance-Lecompte.

For its Monaco edition, Nomad presents both new and established galleries, with each inhabiting a room or space within the villa. A talks and events program will  run  in  parallel  in  the  gardens  and  terraces  of  the  house  and  at  select  private residences across Monaco.

Nomad Monaco takes place from April 27-30 2017.
