At first glance, nothing about Arifa Bseiso says “boxer.” Save for a set of enviably sculpted arms, it’s hard to imagine the 32-year-old spending her evenings in the ring. Bseiso, who is one of five Middle Eastern female athletes tapped to star in Nike’s empowering campaign, is the perfect definition of beauty and brawn. Here, the Nike ambassador shares her makeup must-haves, her go-to trick to keep breakouts at bay, and the best piece of beauty advice her mother gave her.

What is in your makeup bag right now?

Tom Ford’s Eye Defining Pen, Giorgio Armani’s Eyes To Kill mascara and Luminous Silk foundation, Guerlain’s Terracotta bronzing powder, and the Urban Decay setting spray.

What is your everyday beauty look?

My beauty look is “barely-there.” I prep my complexion with a moisturizer and sunblock, and complete my look with brown mascara, eyebrow gel, and a natural, skin tone-colored lipstick.

Which product could you never leave home without?

A hydrating lip balm.

Do you have a skincare routine?

First, I wash my face with a soap-free cleanser by Floxia. After I pat my face dry, I spray a misting of rose water overtop. Since my skin is reactive, I opt for a paraben- and fragrance-free hydrating lotion by Topicrem. Sun block is always a must!

How do you avoid breakouts?

I eat clean and drink lots of water. If possible, I spray my face with rose water mid-session and wash my face immediately after training.

What is your favorite DIY treatment?

I mix a tablespoon of sugar with a bit of olive oil and honey to create a moisturizing lip scrub.

Who is your beauty icon?

Monica Bellucci.

What’s the best piece of beauty advice you got from your mother?

I was afraid to break my nose when I first started boxing, and my mother told me: “Nothing that’s broken can’t be fixed.”
