Nude Lipstick Dominates at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards

When it came to the makeup at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards last night, A-listers took a clean break from the red carpet’s reigning bright lipstick trend. Nude lips in rose, beige, and tawny hues dominated the beauty sphere at the 24th edition of the annual award ceremony in Las Vegas.

Rihanna—who is known for her statement makeup looks—opted for a softer palette for the prestigious music event. The Work singer reached for a subtle, flesh-toned lipstick that had the same, charming allure as a bright red pout.

Pop sensation Britney Spears scooped up the Millennium Award in a dazzling, two-piece, crystal-encrusted ensemble by Lebanese designer Charbel Zoe, which she paired with sultry, smokey eyes and a swivel of beige lipstick.

Meanwhile Billboard Music Awards host Ciara took to the red carpet sporting an eye-catching, pink tinged pout that made for a stage-worthy beauty look.

Across the red carpet, Jessica Alba opted for a graphic, blue smokey eye with a glossy, pastel lip; while Baywatch star Priyanka Chopra demonstrated how tawny lips and a deconstructed braid are a match made in red carpet heaven.

However, the most surprising red carpet look was courtesy of hair chameleon Zendaya. The 19-year-old—who was previously spotted rocking bowl cut and mullet hairstyles at past red carpet events—looked supernaturally stunning with her shiny, straight, caramel locks and soft, rose-toned lips.
