Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane Makes a Case for Coats

Five days before the Grammys, Saint Laurent’s creative director Hedi Slimane staged his own pre-Grammy party in the guise of a men’s Fall 2016 fashion show and featuring Part 1 of the women’s show (Part 2 will be shown during Paris Fashion Week) at Los Angeles’ Sunset Boulevard Palladium theater.

Mega stars Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga were captured along the likes of Joan Jett, Ellen De Generes, and Beck, and apart from being in the music (or entertainment) industry—something they all had in common was their gorgeous outerwear, signed Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane. The front row was an apt reflection of the catwalk, which was rife with richly embroidered bomber jackets, brocade tailcoats, slick trenches, chevron striped overcoats, and tailored tuxedo jackets. Whether men or women wore the epic outerwear at this unique showing, these are coats you’ll be keen to swap.

After the show, Hedi Slimane himself exited (surprise!) to take a bow in his signature skinny jeans, a rich, burgundy velvet jacket, a scarf tied around the neck, and a mop of wavy, brown hair.
