Tunisian fencer Ines Boubakri made history at the 2016 Olympics in Rio on Thursday. The 27-year-old fencer, who defeated Russia’s Aeda Shanaeva in the women’s individual foil match for bronze, became the first Tunisian and African woman to win a fencing medal.

Sporting an effortless, raked back bun and masterfully executed eyeliner, Boubakri stepped onto the podium to accept her award. Through tears of joy, the athlete dedicated her medal to “All Tunisian women, all Arab women who have a place in society.” Soon afterwards, Boubakri took to Instagram to share a selfie clutching her medal with the caption, “Dreams come true,” in French.
